Shining a Light on the Future of Functional Fashion
We are proud to congratulate Felicia Cahaya Lidjaya on earning 3rd Place at the 10th Eternity Design Final Competition – In-house Innovation Fashion Show, hosted by Eclat (儒鴻) in Taipei.
For those outside the textile and fashion industry, Eclat is one of Taiwan’s leading listed textile manufacturers, long trusted by global performance and lifestyle brands. The Eternity Design Competition is not a typical student showcase—it is a highly
competitive, industry-facing platform that challenges young designers to think beyond aesthetics, integrating material performance, functionality, and manufacturability under real-world constraints.

Felicia’s achievement is especially meaningful within this context.
Currently a Fashion Design student at Shih Chien University, Felicia’s journey with Starite began during a pivotal moment in our own transformation. She joined us during the Acrylic to Global Summer Internship 2025, a three-month period that coincided
with Starite’s transition from nearly 50 years of OEM manufacturing toward a new brand and innovation direction. Her role quickly evolved beyond learning—she demonstrated the ability to translate material understanding into design thinking, earning her a continued
role as a Part-Time Innovation & Strategy Executive while still completing her studies.

Unlike a typical fashion show development cycle, Felicia worked under an extremely compressed timeline—balancing school, part-time professional responsibilities, and competition preparation. Within these constraints, she made a bold creative decision:
integrating acrylic lightguide technology into her garment concept.
Design Concept|Function as Narrative
Inspired by extreme trekking and outdoor environments, Felicia’s design focused on visibility and human safety as part of the garment’s core language.
Lightguide as Safety Signal
The integrated lightguide enhances visibility in low-light or emergency conditions.
Function Without Excess
Illumination is embedded as part of the design system—hands-free, purposeful, and restrained.
This approach required not only creative courage, but a deep understanding of material behavior—something Felicia developed through hands-on exposure during her time with Starite.
Collaboration & Support
The final collection was realized through focused collaboration across disciplines:
** Functional Textile Support - Provided performance-ready fabrics that supported the collection’s functional intent.
a.) 洪裕國際股份有限公司(HUNG’S FORTUNE INTERNATIONAL CO., LTD.)
b.) 織彩股份有限公司(KNITMORE CO., LTD.)
** Pattern & Construction Guidance
Special thanks to KoKo Chen, whose background spans fashion brands and major textile manufacturing, with academic training at Nottingham Trent University. Her experience in pattern making and construction was instrumental in bringing the collection to
completion within limited time.
** Material Integration
Recycled acrylic materials supported by Starite were incorporated directly into Felicia’s catwalk presentation, reinforcing the dialogue between material reuse, functionality, and visual storytelling.
A Moment That Matters
Felicia’s recognition—placing among 18 finalists selected from over 400 applicants—is not only a personal milestone. It reflects how emerging designers can already engage with materials at a professional level, bridging design, performance, and application.
For us at Starite, this moment reaffirms a belief we hold strongly:
that meaningful innovation often begins quietly—through individuals willing to experiment, connect disciplines, and take thoughtful risks.

Felicia’s path—from intern, to part-time contributor, to award-winning designer—is one we are proud to support. We look forward to seeing how her creative journey continues to unfold.
