Starite sponsors the 2026 Taiwan × Vietnam Recycled Acrylic Design Initiative
What happens when recycled materials, emerging designers, and cross-border collaboration come together?
The Taiwan × Vietnam Circularity Initiative Project was created to explore exactly that.
Organized together with Đà Nẵng University of Architecture, the 2026 Recycled Acrylic Design Competition brings together students, industry, and international perspectives to rethink how recycled acrylic can evolve into future-ready applications for architecture, lighting, and spatial design.
Rather than viewing recycled materials as waste, this initiative challenges participants to transform them into scalable ideas with real environmental and commercial potential.
This year’s program also welcomes international perspectives from the architectural and sustainability communities, including guest judge participation from the University of Washington Integrated Design Lab — further connecting circular design, wellness-oriented environments, and future sustainable building discussions across Taiwan, Vietnam, and North America.
Beyond the competition itself, this initiative reflects several long-term directions Starite continues to explore:
▪ Circular material applications in architecture and interiors
▪ Cross-border collaboration between Taiwan and Vietnam
▪ Future sustainable manufacturing and material systems
▪ Design integration through real-world applications
▪ Connecting academia, industry, and emerging talent
As ASEAN markets continue evolving, we believe future material innovation will increasingly depend on collaboration across design, manufacturing, sustainability, and regional partnerships.
